Human Rights in Chile: Fabiola Letelier’s Perspectives on Three Decades of Struggle
March 2006

Fabiola Letelier is an internationally known human rights lawyer who defied Pinochet long before the dictatorship assassinated her brother Orlando Letelier in Washington DC in 1976.  Due to Ms. Letelier’s untiring efforts, for the first time in Latin American history, the head of an intelligence service was tried, convicted, and imprisoned.   Among Ms. Letelier’s other cases is prosecution of those responsible for the murder of Charles Horman, the journalist profiled in the film Missing, and his friend Frank Teruggi.  Ms. Letelier is available to speak at law schools in March 2006. For more information contact Linn Shapiro .
